Accounting software is application software that records and processes accounting transactions. This software usually pertains to accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
QuickBooks
QuickBooks is one of the top accounting softwares. Intuit is the maker of QuickBooks, they originally started out as quicken in 1983. Over the years they have made changes to the program, and that became QuickBooks.
The reason this is the best software on the market for small businesses is because it has remote access capabilities. That means you will be able to control your QuickBooks without having to constantly have your laptop on you. You will be able to enjoy the benefits of remote payroll access and outsourcing, electronic payment functions, employee time tracking, and pre authorization of electronic functions.
You will be able to locate the things you need through Google maps. This version has marketing available through Google and excels spreadsheets. Along with the add-ons that are available will help you through your other office needs such as preparing your own taxes and all of the Microsoft programs.
This program is available for online use with a small monthly payment instead of a large yearly payment like some others.
Sage
Sage 50 is number two on my list. This is offered as a program to be downloaded to your computer. Sage 50 is easy to use and has 24 hour support with valuable tools that will help you through any problem you may have. There are three versions available for this program.
The first is pro accounting; this is a basic accounting that helps you pay your bills, get paid, and controls your cash flow. This one is better for the inexperienced.
The second one is premium; this one does the entire basic plus advanced accounting tools, sophisticated inventory management, and multi user with added security. This would be perfect for the more advanced users with a lager business base.
The third one is quantum it has the entire first two programs with added faster processing, industrial specific functions, and up to 40 users with control over user access. This program is for larger industrial companies. The other benefits of this program are; it handles everything from accounting to credit card processing.
Account Edge
The third program on my list is Account Edge this program will allow you or others to add information to your books. The other parties cannot see what is on your books without your information. This lets you split your books in two so you are able to keep better track of jobs, and it will also let you have an extra copy saved for when your accountant needs to look over your books.
With Account Edge you will be able to run reports on all aspects of your business. You will be able to keep up with your payroll, budget, billing, etc. this program is third on my list because it is mostly for Mac users, and you have to add a lot of add-ons to get what you need from this program. There is much more accounting software out there.
