The latest Labor Force Survey (LFS) from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), released in January 2025, highlights the top professions in the country based on daily wages.
According to the data, the five top-paying jobs in terms of average daily basic pay are:
- Managers – Earning an average of P1,300 per day, managers continue to top the list. However, this reflects a slight dip from P1,356 in January 2024. These professionals are responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing operations in businesses, government agencies, and other organizations.
- Armed Forces Personnel – With a daily wage of P1,174, this group saw an increase from P1,095 per day in the previous year. This category includes all uniformed members of the armed forces, excluding law enforcement personnel such as police and customs officers.
- Professionals – Earning an average of P1,173 per day, professionals saw an increase from P1,113 in January 2024. These roles require specialized knowledge in fields like science, social sciences, legal services, and the arts.
- Technicians and Associate Professionals – This category earned P855 per day, up from P786 last year. These workers handle technical tasks related to scientific applications, operational procedures, and compliance with government and business regulations.
- Clerical Support Workers – With an average daily wage of P739, this group experienced a moderate increase from P708 in 2024. Their responsibilities include handling administrative tasks, maintaining records, scheduling appointments, and processing transactions.
Lowest-Paying Jobs in the Philippines
On the other end of the spectrum, the five lowest-paying occupations in terms of daily wages are:
- Elementary Occupations – P416 per day (e.g., cleaning, basic maintenance, kitchen assistance, street sweeping)
- Skilled Agricultural, Forestry, and Fishery Workers – P418 per day (e.g., farming, fishing, and animal husbandry)
- Service and Sales Workers – P531 per day (e.g., housekeeping, food service, hairdressing, sales)
- Plant and Machine Operators and Assemblers – P572 per day (e.g., operating machinery in industrial or agricultural settings)
- Craft and Related Trades Workers – P573 per day (e.g., construction, welding, pottery, handicrafts)
