Globe’s aggressive network builds to elevate customer experience in this challenging time have resulted in better services in two key cities in Metro Manila and Rizal.

As of March this year, Globe has installed 143 cell sites and completed the upgrade of 666 sites to 4G LTE in key locations in Quezon City. It has also expanded its 5G coverage to 195 locations in the biggest city in Metro Manila.

Globe has also made significant strides in Antipolo City. Since last year, the company has installed 21 new cell towers and has made 93 site upgrades in the provincial capital of Rizal.

“We are hoping that these innovations and latest technology will help our customers in their everyday struggle against the challenges of the new normal and the economic brought by the pandemic.  We care for their well being and by improving their call, SMS and data browsing services, we give them the best and lasting services they deserve,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

Aside from network expansion, Globe has also completed the laying of 25,000 fiber lines to connect more households in Antipolo in these challenging times of the new normal. The city’s strong partnership with Globe has also resulted in free internet access to its residents in different medical facilities such as Rizal Provincial Hospital Padilla, Rizal Provincial Hospital Dalig and Rizal Provincial Hospital Mambugan and at the Antipolo City Hall.

“Very accessible na ang communication. Contactless na ang mga transaction, especially for submission of data. Madali na rin magrefer sa mga consultant regarding the condition of the patient,” said Dr. Virgilio Zafra, Head, Antipolo City Health Systems Annex lV.

The strong connectivity in Antipolo City has also helped its health frontliners against COVID-19.

“Nagagamit po namin siya sa trabaho namin, sa pagsesearch ng lugar ng ospital kung saan pagdadalhan ng pasyente. Pangalawa, bago kami umalis ng ospital para magdala o mag transfer ng pasyente, nakakapag-update kami sa pamilya namin tapos dito rin sa ospital, nakakapag-update din kami sa mga head namin,” added Edgar Torcato.

Agustin reminds that Globe customers in Quezon City and Antipolo City may enjoy and elevate their call, SMS and data browsing experience if they are using a 5G ready 4G LTE SIM.  Customers using the old and obsolete 3G SIM cards must replace their SIM. In doing so, customers can also avail of affordable and exclusive promos and packages from Globe.

Since last year, Globe has been urging its remaining customers who are still using 3G SIM cards to upgrade to the 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM cards. They are also encouraged to upgrade their mobile devices into 4G LTE capable ones.

Upgrading to a 5G ready 4G LTE SIM card is free of charge at all Globe Stores.  Moreover, customers will retain their old number. For security reasons, customers are advised to upgrade their SIM cards at all Globe Stores. For more information, please go to

“Aside from better call, SMS and browsing services, updating to 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM cards will also empower our customers to make the most of their connectivity using our various promos and affordable plans.  Internet connection is one of the best ways to handle and lessen the impact of travel restrictions and health protocols that are still in place,” added Agustin.

Customers who wish to upgrade their mobile devices can also check all Globe stores to see the affordable and available 5G-ready 4G/LTE capable mobile devices.

Globe’s aggressive network builds and network modernization to 4G LTE and 5G has resulted in improved services to its customers nationwide.  According to Ookla®’s Q1 2021 data,[1] the telco’s nationwide consistency score is now more than 70 percent.  Metro Manila registered Globe’s best score with more than 76 percent while impressive percentages were also noted in Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, Cebu City and Davao City.

Globe strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) particularly UN SDG No. 9 that highlights the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development.
