When you buy a handcrafted item, you’re not just taking home a product — you’re carrying a story. This is the heartbeat of Padday na Lima 2025, the 19th annual regional trade fair that celebrates the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the people of Cagayan Valley.
Happening from September 19 to 25, 2025, at the Carousel Court of Festival Mall in Alabang, this year’s event is more than a marketplace — it’s a vibrant celebration of heritage, innovation, and opportunity.
A Celebration of Craftsmanship and Culture
The theme “Hues of Heritage: Celebrating Cagayan Valley’s Colors of Trade and Traditions” highlights the region’s diverse culture and thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. “Padday na Lima,” which means handmade in Ibanag, started as a small local fair but has since become a major platform that connects rural artisans, farmers, and MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises) to wider markets.
For many producers, this trade fair represents more than sales — it’s a chance to grow, gain visibility, and build connections with buyers from Metro Manila and beyond.
What to Expect at Padday na Lima 2025
Visitors can expect to experience the best of Cagayan Valley in one venue:
- Artisan Crafts & Textiles – Intricate weaves, handmade bags, and traditional clothing.
- Food and Delicacies – Organic produce, chocolates, coffee, fermented products, and ready-to-eat meals.
- Home and Lifestyle – Bamboo furniture, coconut-based goods, and eco-friendly housewares.
- Specialty Zones – Green innovations, health and wellness items, Halal-certified products, and OTOP (One Town, One Product) booths featuring the unique products of each town and province.
For 2025, DTI is also introducing prototype products created in collaboration with designers and business mentors. These will be live-tested at the fair, giving entrepreneurs valuable feedback to refine and improve their offerings.
A Hybrid Marketplace for a Digital Economy
Padday na Lima has embraced a hybrid model, allowing buyers to shop both in person and online. This means the products of Cagayan Valley aren’t just available for one week — they can now reach customers year-round through e-commerce platforms.
This shift is especially important for rural entrepreneurs looking to adapt to a digital-first economy after the pandemic.
Empowering MSMEs Beyond the Fair
Behind the scenes, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is helping participants with business support services such as:
- Branding and product development workshops
- Trade fair readiness training
- Business-to-business (B2B) matching with institutional buyers
DTI expects at least 30 institutional buyers at this year’s fair — including representatives from supermarkets, hotels, and export companies — giving MSMEs the opportunity to break into bigger markets.
A Proven Driver of Regional Growth
The 2024 edition of Padday na Lima supported over 100 MSMEs, generating ₱9.9 million in sales and benefiting more than 2,000 local producers. This year, organizers are targeting a 10% increase in sales and a stronger network of partners and buyers.
A Community Effort
The success of this trade fair is powered by collaboration. The DTI works closely with the Department of Agriculture-Cagayan Research Center, PhilExport, Base Bahay Foundation, local governments, industry groups, media partners, and digital marketplaces to make the event possible.
Why You Should Visit
Padday na Lima is more than just a shopping trip — it’s a chance to support Filipino entrepreneurs and take home a piece of Cagayan Valley’s heritage. Every purchase helps a farmer, a weaver, or a small business owner take their dream to the next level.
So, whether you’re looking for unique gifts, healthy food options, or beautiful home décor, mark your calendars and be part of this movement that turns gawang kamay into gawang world-class.
