
Select members of the Chamber of Cosmetics Industry of the Philippines, Inc. (CCIP) Board of Trustees paid a courtesy visit to the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) to meet with newly appointed director general, Atty. Brigitte Da Costa-Villaluz.
DG Brigitte shared her eagerness to support micro and small businesses, aiming to leverage IPOPHL’s services to help them grow and thrive. She was joined by her chief of staff, Atty. Louie Calrio and Atty. Reggie Pamatian, who leads IP enforcement—including initiatives with e-commerce platforms to combat counterfeit products and unauthorized sellers, an issue many CCIP members care about.
Present from the CCIP Board of Trustees were executive vice president of external affairs – Dr. Janina Tan of Jradiance Corporation; executive vice president of internal affairs – Jacqueline Lim of First Asia Manufacturing Corporation; vice president of government & regulatory affairs – Robi Uy of Unilever Philippines Inc.; vice president of information publication & public affairs – Denice Sy of Ever Bilena Cosmetics, Inc.; vice president of professional development & education – Shirley Cayago of Splash Wipro Corporation; and vice president of corporate social responsibility – Jinkie Rontale of Sentrotek Corporation.
The meeting reinforced CCIP’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with IPOPHL in protecting intellectual property rights and fostering a fair, competitive landscape for the cosmetics industry. DG Brigitte also committed her attendance to CCIP’s upcoming first General Membership Meeting to be held on March 6, 2025.
With DG Brigitte’s leadership and IPOPHL’s initiatives, CCIP looks forward to working closely with the agency to support innovation, combat counterfeiting, and empower micro and small enterprises in the sector.
