Globe’s target to build more new cell towers remains on track as it has installed 212 new cell sites in Metro Manila for 1H of 2021.
Despite the challenges brought by quarantine and health protocols in NCR, the company was able to sustain the momentum in building the much needed ICT infrastructure to improve mobile and internet services.
“We are very optimistic that these new cell sites will help boost better mobile experiences for our customers as connectivity becomes an essential part of their everyday lives. We know their concerns and are doing our best to address them in the soonest possible time. These installations will definitely boost mobile experience not only in Metro Manila but in nearby provinces as well,” said Joel Agustin, Globe SVP for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.
Globe’s network rollout efforts since January have also resulted in more installations in Cavite, Rizal, Batangas, Laguna, Cebu, Bulacan and Pampanga.
There are at least 39 new towers in Cavite built in key locations all over the province. 26 new sites have been also installed in Rizal, while 25 new cell sites have been put up in Batangas and Laguna. At least 17 new cell sites were built in Cebu, Bulacan and Pampanga for the first half of the year.
Agustin added that similar efforts are also underway in more provinces not only in Luzon but in Visayas and Mindanao as well.
Globe’s relentless efforts to improve the country’s state of connectivity has led to it being the most consistent mobile network for two consecutive quarters in 2021, as verified by Ookla®.
The telco remained the leader in nationwide mobile consistency, ahead of competition. The Consistency Score in Q1 2021 was 70.43 and Q2 2021 was 75.98[1]
