Globe’s efforts to upgrade its network are expected to result in better quality of calls, SMS and data services for its customers in Pampanga, Laguna and Batangas.

The company has completed the upgrade to the newer and more modern 4G LTE technology from the old and obsolete 3G in these provinces.  In doing so, customers using 4G LTE SIM cards with a 4G LTE capable mobile device will be able to benefit and take advantage of the modernization efforts in these areas.

“These site upgrades that we have made in Pampanga, Laguna and Batangas will help improve data experience in the area and pave the way for 4G LTE to be our new standard of mobile data technology. So we are encouraging all Globe customers in the area to update their SIMs to the 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM and their devices to the 4G LTE capable devices.  Doing so will allow them to experience the service improvements with faster and more reliable internet services. Our customers will surely make the most value of their money especially in areas where connectivity is a must as they cope with the challenges that have impacted our country since the outbreak on the pandemic last year,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

Agustin added Globe’s various network upgrade initiatives are underway in other key provinces across the country, as the company aims to fast-track efforts to bring the Filipino digital lifestyle to more Filipinos in the new normal.

Globe reiterates that mobile customers who continue to use the obsolete 3G SIMs and devices will not be able to experience the network improvements as these will not be compatible with the network’s more advanced technologies.

“Our upgrades and improvement efforts will be for naught if our customers will not upgrade their SIM cards and mobile devices as soon as possible. We are doing our best to give them the best possible services but we also need their support and cooperation now to realize the promises and the many opportunities that the 4G LTE network brings,” added Agustin.

Over the last 2 years, Globe has been doing a lot of activities to make its customers upgrade to the 5G-ready 4G/LTE SIM to enjoy better services as the company has been aggressively pushing its network upgrades and modernization despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Upgrading to the 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM is free of charge. There is no fee involved and the old mobile number will be retained. For security reasons, customers are advised to upgrade their SIM at a Globe Store. For more information, please go to
