Bangkok, 19 June 2024 – Thai Wah Public Company Limited (TWPC), a leader in agriculture and food businesses in Southeast Asia for over 76 years, has signed a memorandum of understanding with VGREEN KU Company Limited, a specialized center for eco-friendly business strategies at the Faculty of Environment, Kasetsart University. The collaboration aims to drive and elevate Thai entrepreneurs towards eco-friendly business practices through the creation of greenhouse gas inventory data for cassava plantation areas. The agreement was recently signed at the Banyan Tree Bangkok Hotel, by Mr. Ho Ren Hua, CEO and Director of Thai Wah Public Company Limited, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tunlawit Satapanajaru, Dean of the Faculty of Environment, Kasetsart University.
This cooperation is part of the Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (T-VER) of the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO). The process involves calculating carbon footprint and carbon credit, assessing economic feasibility, and registering the carbon footprint label for renewable products. This is a significant step for Thai Wah towards advancing Thailand’s Carbon Neutrality goal and ensuring long-term sustainability for the Thai agriculture and economy sectors.
