Overseas Filipino workers have one month left to participate in the Social Security System’s (SSS) Member-Get-Member (MGM) promo for a chance to win cash prizes and a trip back to the Philippines for their active SSS membership and referral of fellow OFWs.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emilio de Quiros, Jr. said OFWs have until June 30 to register for the MGM promo by submitting their applications at SSS branches and foreign offices or through the SSS website at www.sss.gov.ph.
“We urge OFW-members to register and make sure they have six monthly contributions from January to June this year to qualify for the Grand Draw in September,” he said.
The Grand Prize is a travel package worth P160,000 inclusive of round-trip economy airfare to Manila from the OFW’s country of deployment; round-trip airfare, airport transfers and four-day hotel accommodation for two in Boracay; and P45,000 pocket money.
The SSS draws nine winners of P10,000 each during monthly raffle draws for January to June 2012. Three winners every month come from OFWs based in Asia, three from the Middle East, and another three from Europe and other parts of the world.
OFWs registered as “nominators” earn entries to the monthly raffle draw every time they and their referred member or “nominee” pay their contributions for the same month. Interested OFWs must have at least one contribution within the last three months to register as nominators.
“Nominators increase their chances of winning for every new or existing member they refer to SSS as their own ‘nominee.’ The nominee must be an OFW with no posted contributions in 2011,” de Quiros noted.
A total of 36 names have been drawn in the monthly raffle draws from January to April. Four of them — Maria Riza Wabinga, Pensees Dawny Figueroa, Elizabeth Fernandez and Aileen Barbosa — have won P10,000 twice due to their high number of successful referrals.
“OFW-nominators can only win once in every monthly raffle draw, but they may win again in the succeeding months. Nominators and nominees who complete six monthly contributions for January to June 2012 automatically qualify for the Grand Draw,” de Quiros said.
Raffle winners for April, which were drawn on May 31, were Merlinda Damaso, Aileen Barbosa and Diana Aniban (Hong Kong); Estela Ala (Oman); Aminola Kadil (Kuwait); Jennylyn Misa (Abu Dhabi); Roberto Mendoza, Maria Michaela Tan and Ma. Arvic Quisaot (London).
Other prizes in the Grand Draw include P30,000 each for two winners (2nd prize); P20,000 each for three winners (3rd prize); P10,000 each for ten winners (consolation prize); and P50,000 and an SSS plaque of appreciation for the OFW with the most number of nominees.
