Gravity Game Tech (GGT), the Thai subsidiary of global gaming company Gravity, officially kicked off the Closed Beta Test (CBT) for its new 2D MMORPG The Ragnarok on October 10 at 1 PM (GMT+7). The CBT is live across Southeast Asia and runs until October 17.

How to Join the CBT

The Southeast Asia CBT for The Ragnarok will be available until October 17 at 12 PM (GMT+7). Players can participate by downloading the game via Google Play in their region or by searching for The Ragnarok on the Apple App Store through TestFlight.

About The Ragnarok

The Ragnarok is a mobile MMORPG that perfectly recreates the 2D pixel graphics of the classic Ragnarok Online, offering a nostalgic, retro experience. It retains the original’s core systems and content, allowing players to relive the charm of early 2000s MMORPGs. The game is optimized for mobile with an intuitive UI, making it easier for players to enjoy. Iconic areas like Geffen, Prontera, and Morroc are available, with support for multiple languages, including English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Thai, and Indonesian.

To enhance immersion, The Ragnarok features a revamped soundtrack using the Ragnarok Orchestra Concert version of the original BGM. Players can also enjoy free trading through the in-game exchange, adding a layer of player-driven interaction.

CBT Events and Rewards

In celebration of the CBT, GGT has lined up a series of in-game events. For the first seven days after character creation, players can complete daily missions to earn items like Zeny, enhancement stones, and card packs. Additionally, players will receive rewards based on login time—15, 30, 60, and 120 minutes—and level-up bonuses from level 20 to 80 in 10-level increments.

GGT’s Take on the Southeast Asia Launch

Jung Il-Tae, Director of Gravity Game Tech, emphasized the importance of the Southeast Asian market, noting that it has shown an exceptionally high level of interest in Ragnarok games. “We’ve worked hard to reflect the needs and requests of players from around the world, and we believe that The Ragnarok, with its nostalgic pixel art and refined mobile experience, will resonate strongly with players in Southeast Asia,” he said. “We encourage everyone to take part in the CBT and enjoy the rewards we’ve prepared.”

Anticipation for The Ragnarok

The pre-registration and CBT of The Ragnarok have sparked a renewed wave of excitement for Ragnarok in Southeast Asia. The game has already seen success following its June launch in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau and it’s September launch in Korea where it performed well in both Google Play and the App Store.

Pre-registration for The Ragnarok is ongoing through the official website, Google Play, and Apple App Store ahead of its full launch.
