Globe continues to accelerate cell site builds nationwide to meet its commitment of improving customer experience through better connectivity. For the months of September and October 2021, Globe built 195 new cell sites and upgraded 2,800 sites with LTE technology in 706 towns and cities across 81 provinces.
This resulted in nearly one million more customers enjoying Globe’s services.
Globe customers from the expanded and new sites reported improved network experience. Top areas are Bulacan, Cavite, NCR second district, Cebu, and NCR fourth district. Of these customers, 75% are heavy data users who reported a maximum speed increase of at least 50% in video streaming, web browsing, and speed test.
Majority of these customers are already using 4G LTE SIMs and devices. Globe appeals to customers still using 3G SIMs to upgrade to 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM cards and capable devices to take advantage of what the newer technologies can offer.
“At Globe, we continue to strive to deliver the best digital experience for our customers, and we do not stop on our network build efforts, despite the difficulties of the pandemic,” said Marge Dizon, Globe Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.
The digital solutions platform has embarked on an aggressive expansion program to deliver a #1stWorldNetwork. It continues to boost its mobile and data network nationwide, given the increasing demand for connectivity.
Globe strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly UN SDG No. 9, highlighting the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development. It is committed to upholding the UN Global Compact principles and contributing to 10 UN SDGs.
