In an effort to further the cause of Filipino inventors, the Technology Resource Center (TRC) is gearing up for the commercialization of home-grown inventions.
Following the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between TRC and the Filipino Inventors’ Society (FIS) Inc., both agencies are now collaborating on the mechanics for properly assessing the commercial potential of invention-based technologies.
TRC Director General Dennis Cunanan is confident TRC’s alliance with the inventor group would mature into a full working partnership. “We have actually been looking forward to work closely with local inventors,” Cunanan said, “and we are glad that, with this MOU, we can now begin to explore for a workable set of programs to try and create more avenues of opportunity for local inventors,” he added.
Among the projects that the TRC and FIS, Inc., are planning is the publication of instructional booklets on locally invented products that can be easily replicated for commercial purposes by small entrepreneurs.
