To celebrate some of the milestones it has reached so far this year, Ayala Foundation, the social development arm of the Ayala group of companies, gathered a select number of partners and supporters for a themed thanksgiving lunch.
The intimate gathering, which carried the theme “Salu-Salo sa Museo,” highlighted the undeniable role of partnerships and collaboration to ensure the success of the foundation’s programs. Strong partnerships, as the event suggested, resulted in many strongly intertwined lives, all working toward nurturing communities that are productive, creative, self-reliant, and proud to be Filipino.
Inspired by the Ayala Museum’s ongoing exhibition “Intertwined: Transpacific, Transcultural Philippines,” “Salu-Salo sa Museo” provided an experience that called to mind centuries of intersecting lives and dynamic cultural exchange.
Curated by Florina Capistrano-Baker, “Intertwined … seeks to illuminate our transpacific heritage generated by regional and global maritime exchanges from prehistory to the Spanish and early American colonial periods when ancient trade networks in the Indian Ocean and South China Sea stretched across the Pacific to Latin America, North America, and Europe.” The Ayala Museum is one Ayala Foundation’s offerings under the theme of Love of Country.
After treating the guests to a guided tour of the “Intertwined” exhibit, Ayala Foundation then hosted a lunch that gave a taste of food that evoked the fusion of cultures and flavors, that hinted at foreign influence while also remaining undeniably Filipino.
In his message to the guests, Ayala Foundation President Ruel Maranan highlighted the collaborative spirit that fuels the organization. “Ang ano mang tagumpay na nakakamit ng aming organisasyon at ng aming mga komunidad ay resulta ng pagsasama-sama, pagtutulungan ng mga magigiting na kawani, kaibigan at kababayan.” (All the success experienced within our organization and by our program communities is the result of the collaboration of heroic colleagues, friends, and fellow Filipinos.)
He also stressed that the spirit of collaboration is strongly supported by its “AFI 3Cs 2Ps” framework. He explained: “From the beginning our commitment has always been clear, as embodied by AFI 3Cs 2Ps—Align with the needs of our stakeholders, Focus on relevant programs and interventions that create the most Impact, for the benefit of our Conglomerate, Communities, and Country, duly supported by People and Processes. This framework has allowed Ayala Foundation to serve millions of Filipinos across the country, or even beyond, whether onsite, online, or offsite.”
