Globe, the pioneer and leader of 5G technology in the Philippines, is set to expand further its 5G Roaming services to more international destinations across Asia, North America and Europe.

Globe 5G roaming service

The company is gearing up to launch 5G Roaming services in Oman, China, Japan, Taiwan, Macao, North America, and select European countries like Belgium and Luxembourg within Q2 this year, in its quest to extend 5G connectivity for Filipino workers and travelers.

This move not only showcases Globe’s vision to provide endless possibilities of 5G technology, but also the tech innovator’s foresight of the return of traveling for business or leisure.

“While travel remains on hold for the time being, Globe continues to be aggressive with its 5G roaming expansion to ensure that we’re always a step ahead of our customers’ needs. Globe will continue to innovate so our customers will be first to experience the many benefits of 5G,” said Coco Domingo, Globe’s Vice President for Postpaid and International Business.

This is good news for Globe users with 5G-enabled handsets and devices as they can ultimately experience 5G’s superfast and stable connection within 5G-ready areas. This means uninterrupted speeds, HD quality video calls, and all-day social media updates.

Globe’s 5G Roaming services will not be limited to customers travelling out of the Philippines as foreign travelers visiting the Philippines will also get to enjoy the power of 5G technology provided they are subscribed to partner-telcos of Globe.

So far this year, Thailand and UAE are the latest additions to Globe’s global 5G Network expansion, allowing Pinoys in the Philippines to stay connected to relatives, loved ones, and vast opportunities situated in these countries. The telco giant has also successfully cemented its partnership with other telco partners including Ooredoo in Kuwait and Qatar, SK Telecom in South Korea, and CSL in Hong Kong.

This progressive migration to 5G technology is aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG), specifically UN SDG No. 9, which compels society to move forward towards solutions to sustainably develop infrastructures, industries, and innovation–an ideal that Globe widely supports.

In the Philippines, Globe users have started to unlock and experience the capabilities of 5G technology in 1,253 locations nationwide.
