Ayala Foundation, the social development arm of the Ayala group, won six trophies at the 55th Anvil Awards given by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines on February 28.
The foundation received four Gold and two Silver Anvils for communications programs and tools.
Brigadang Ayala, an employee engagement program in support of the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela initiative, won a Gold Anvil for programs for specific stakeholders. By working closely with the Ayala group and community partners, Brigadang Ayala mobilized over 7,000 volunteers and generated more than 172,000 volunteer hours.
The foundation also won a Gold Anvil for a sustained entrepreneurship program for the Calauan program, which trained displaced individuals in farming skills. Today, the men and women participating in the program are growing organic vegetables, as well as ornamental plants for Makati Development Corporation and other clients.
A Gold Anvil for a sustained program in arts and culture was given to Ayala Museum On-the-Go, which brings the Ayala Museum experience outside the museum walls through traveling exhibitions, lectures and workshops, as well as online channels.
The Ayala Foundation 2018 Annual Report also won a Gold Anvil for external publications. Carrying the theme “The Future of History,” the annual report highlighted the milestones of the foundation’s operating year—telling a story that honored past achievements while also looking at exciting opportunities.
Two Silver Anvils were given to the following: Crescent Hopes, which tells the life stories and leadership journeys of the fellows of the Bangsamoro Young Leaders Program–Leadership Communities; and Maging Magiting, which is a nationwide call for nationalism and citizenship by distributing Philippine flags nationwide and honoring ordinary Filipinos who displayed extraordinary acts of heroism.
The Anvil Awards are presented annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.
