Social Security System (SSS) President and Chief Executive Officer Emilio de Quiros, Jr. (left) offered direct feedback from top SSS management during the agency’s Stakeholders Meeting at the Phela Convention Center in General Santos City on July 19.
About 180 representatives of employers and members (right) from Southern Mindanao attended the regional event, which was part of SSS management’s drive to bring the institution closer to its stakeholders all over the country. De Quiros also discussed SSS’ plan to implement a reform agenda to enhance present and future benefits of members and gradually bring SSS fund life back to perpetuity. The package of reforms includes the proposed 10 percent across-the-board increase in pensions, the 0.6 percent contribution rate hike and a new monthly salary credit ceiling of P20,000.
