Globe further diversifies key officers with Issa Guevarra-Cabreira as first woman Chief Commercial Officer
Globe exceeded its network builds and modernization targets in the first quarter of the year. Despite the continuing pandemic, Globe built 318 new cell sites, a 152 percent jump from 126 sites built in the same period last year.
Globe also installed over 287,000 high-speed lines reflecting a 212 percent increase vs Q1 2020, while 844 areas benefited from in-building solutions and strategic property business development initiatives for the period. Wireless expansion, which includes 4G LTE and 5G builds also reached 7,065 sites in the first quarter of 2021 or up by 245 percent year on year.
Globe is allotting P70 billion this year to upgrade, improve and expand its network buoyed by strong demand for connectivity and the ensuing economic recovery post-vaccinations. Substantial CAPEX will be used for the aggressive rollout of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network, and widen its 5G footprint.

Issa Guevarra-Cabreira is new Chief Commercial Officer: First Woman CCO in Globe’s history
Formally announced at today’s Globe Annual Stockholders Meeting, Issa Guevarra-Cabreira assumes the role of Chief Commercial Officer after Albert de Larrazabal, who has been nominated to Ayala Corporation as its new Chief Finance Officer.
Guevarra-Cabreira, a 25-year brand marketing and mobile telco business veteran will lead the whole commercial business unit of Globe. Her expertise and valued insights will help drive strategies to fuel the telco conglomerate’s growth in a highly competitive market.
Guevarra-Cabreira held various leadership roles within Globe, and consistently brought the brand to number one status. She was previously head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business where she was credited for taking the value brand TM mobile to top post in terms of subscriber count. Cabreira also served as 917Ventures Managing Partner, the largest corporate incubator in the country under the Globe Group.
“Issa’s experience and deep knowledge of the industry equips her with the ability to steer the team effectively towards the achievement of Globe’s goals,” said Cu.

Albert de Larrazabal has been nominated to assume Chief Finance Officer role in Ayala Corporation. De Larrazabal joined Globe Telecom in June 2006 as head of its Treasury Division overseeing treasury, tax and insurance operations. He was promoted to the role of Chief Finance Officer and Treasurer in 2010. In November 2015, Albert was appointed to a newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer, overseeing all customer facing units and growing revenues across all products and service groups.
Continued pandemic response
After raising P1.3 billion in combined services and assistance packages for its stakeholders in 2020, Globe continues to support the marginalized sector during this pandemic. As of 1Q 2021, Globe customers raised P3.4 million in donations via Rewards points.
Globe extended RT-PCR testing to its employees, families and dependents, as well as vendor-partners for their identified critical workforce. The Globe Labs is operated by Healthway and accredited by the DOH.
