The Liveable Cities Philippines and the League of Cities of the Philippines, in partnership with Globe Telecom, are pleased to present the Liveable Cities Labs, a series of webinar sessions to gear up cities with knowledge and insights for designing better solutions for their communities.
For its 4th session, the Liveable Cities Lab will focus on Digital Transformation in a Post-GCQ World: Data Analytics 101: The Value and Use of Data for Managing LGUs. LCC will take a look at one of the key elements that drives the move towards the digital age. Data will be the new “oil” which fuels better planning and informed decisions and how it plays an important role, especially in local governments. It allows local chief executives and managers to design better solutions, gain insights in delivering and enhancing services, formulate policies, and improve accountability and understanding of local operations.
The LCC has assembled a team of data science experts and institutions, which collect data on cities to help them build up capacity for planning and design of city services. The panelists include Miguel Acosta, Data Management Head of Globe Telecom’s Enterprise Data Office will be joined by Soleil Erika Manzano, Program Officer for Special Projects, League of Cities of the Philippines; Broderick Sapnu, Program Officer for Management Information System, League of Cities of the Philippines; Francis Y. Capistrano, Head of Experimentation, Accelerator Lab of the United Nations Development Programme Philippines; Yemesrach Workie, Senior Policy Adviser of United Nations Development Programme Philippines; and Pia Faustino, Head of Data Insights and Social Sector Engagements at Thinking Machines.
The discussion will revolve around the importance of collecting timely and quality data, analytics, and the value of data science for cities and municipalities.
