The Social Security System (SSS) will hold the “SSS Stakeholders’ Day” on two separate dates within the first week of September in 20 malls nationwide, as part of its 56th Anniversary celebration.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emilio S. de Quiros, Jr. said the main event will be held at the Skydome of SM North EDSA in Quezon City on September 1, Sunday. Members, employers and the general public are invited to visit and avail themselves of SSS services.
“SSS will set up information booths, issue forms, and provide counseling on SSS concerns, online verification and registration services. Non-members can also apply for a social security number, while household employers can secure their own Employer ID Number that they will use for registering and remitting monthly SSS contributions of their domestic workers or ‘kasambahay,’” he said.
Meanwhile, SSS Service Offices in 19 other malls all over the country will also host their own SSS Stakeholders’ Day in their respective areas, with the first batch of eight SOs also scheduled on September 1, and the rest on September 7, Saturday. The SOs that will conduct the SSS Stakeholders’ Day on September 1 are Robinsons Luisita in Tarlac; Robinsons Starmills in Pampanga; Robinsons Fuente in Cebu; Robinsons Place Iloilo; Robinsons Dumaguete; Robinsons Cagayan de Oro; Robinsons Place GenSan and KCC Mall in General Santos City.
De Quiros said the other 11 SSS Service Offices that will hold the event on September 7 are located in Robinsons Place and Robinsons Otis in Manila; Robinsons Nova Market, Robinsons Galleria and Ali Mall Cubao in Quezon City; Robinsons Place Dasmariñas and Robinsons Imus in Cavite; Robinsons Sta. Rosa and Walter Mart Makiling in Laguna; Star Mall San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan; and Robinsons Place Bacolod.
De Quiros added that SSS members with at least one posted monthly contribution can apply for the Unified Multipurpose Identification System (UMID) Card, which serves as the current SSS identification card, at SM North EDSA and Robinsons Dumaguete on September 1; and Ali Mall Cubao on September 7. The initial SSS ID is free of charge, but those who lost or have to replace their IDs must pay a replacement fee of P300.
“For those visiting the Skydome at SM North EDSA, SSS lawyers will also be on-site to offer free notarial services to members who need to execute affidavits on the loss of their SSS ID, as well as for other SSS-related transactions that need legal assistance. We will also offer tellering services to accept members’ SSS payments,” he noted.
Apart from the SSS Stakeholders’ Day, the agency’s 56th anniversary activities for members, employers, partner agencies and stakeholders also include the launch of the SSS Anniversary Exhibit (August 30); Opening of the Livelihood Bazaar and Exhibit (September 2); SSS Medical Mission (September 4); and the SSS Main Aniversary Program with the “Balikat ng Bayan” Awards and “Miyembro, Bilib Kami Sa ‘Yo” Special Awards (September 9).
