Connectivity is a vital part of consumers’ daily lives due to increased digitalization. This is why there’s also a growing demand for additional and upgraded telecommunications infrastructure. Globe accelerates network rollouts to bring better communications services to its over 85 million customers nationwide.

In October alone, Globe customers already benefited from clearer calls, faster data browsing, and minimal connection delay as a result of new and upgraded sites in 419 towns and cities across 65 provinces.  Globe completed 104 new cell installations and 1,751 site upgrades during the said period.

For the said areas, Globe used 4G LTE, the fourth generation cellular network technology succeeding 3G.  It offers better or higher data speed and improved network responsiveness than 3G, which means less lag and more customers can be served at the same time.

The most notable improvement in network services is reported by customers in Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Negros Oriental, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan, Bukidnon, Antique, Misamis Oriental, Capiz, Bulacan, Batangas, Cavite, Cebu, Aklan and the National Capital Region.

The same elevated experience is felt by customers in the cities and towns of Cabanatuan, Tarlac, Olongapo, Mariveles, Bacolod, Urdaneta, San Jose del Monte, Dumaguete, Bago, Talavera, Kabankalan, Quezon City, Cadiz, Gapan, Roxas, Malaybalay, San Carlos and Manila.

“Globe always prioritizes customer experience.  All these efforts to make connectivity better and more accessible are done with the customers in mind. We want to be with them every step of the way because they deserve nothing less than the best we can offer,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

With its mission to deliver first-world connectivity to Filipinos, Globe has built 1,080 new cell sites and upgraded at least 12,900 mobile sites for the first nine months of 2021.  The company uses 4G LTE and 5G wireless technologies for faster download and upload, higher bandwidth, and low latency, among other benefits. Aside from these, Globe completed 82 in-building sites to provide quality indoor coverage to customers for better mobile signals.

Globe’s 5G outdoor coverage in the National Capital Region has now reached 95% and is already present in over 1,900 locations in the country as of end-September. Globe is helping migrate its customers to 5G-enabled devices and offering free SIM 4G LTE/5G so that customers can experience the power of the new technology.

Globe strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically UN SDG No. 9, which aims to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation. It is committed to upholding the United Nations Global Compact principles and contributing to 10 UN SDGs.
