Globe’s aggressive network rollouts, site upgrades and modernization have resulted in further improvements on its call, SMS and data services to customers.

These improved mobile and data services can be experienced by all Globe customers using 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM card and 4G LTE capable mobile devices in more areas in Boracay, Bacolod City, Davao City and Cagayan de Oro City beginning this month.

More locations in Cebu City are also expected to be 4G LTE ready by March.

4G is the latest wireless mobile telecommunications technology and the new standard in almost all major telecommunications companies in the world replacing the old 3G network.

“Our customers can look forward to faster, better and reliable service in these areas in the next few weeks due to our site upgrades. They can expect clearer calls, timely sending of text messages and faster internet connection for downloading, uploading and streaming their favorite music, movies, online games and even requirements for work-from-home or distance learning needs,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

Globe will start upgrading its sites in Boracay Island,  Bacolod City, Davao City and Cagayan de Oro within the next few weeks.

The Ayala-led telco is likewise upgrading more sites in Cebu City. Earlier, Globe upgraded its network in Iloilo City to 4G LTE.

“With these upgrades, our customers can enjoy better voice and data experience if they are using a 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM and a 4G capable device,”  added Agustin.

Upgrading to a 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM is free to customers. Aside from being free, customers will retain their old mobile number when they upgrade. For security reasons, customers are advised to upgrade their SIM at any Globe Store. For more information, please go to
